Dan's Recreation is a friendly, family-run business that has been sharing
and promoting Keweenaw motor sports since 1973, making us the Keweenaw's
oldest rental service. Located on M-26, just outside of Houghton, we have
direct access to all of the local trails. From our free store-side parking
area, you can easily ride to any of your favorite destinations. The coffee
is always on at Dan's, waiting your return from Copper Harbor, the Porcupine
Mountains or beyond.
Dan's is a one-stop outfitter, carrying a full
line of parts, accessories and clothing to get you on the Keweenaw's renowned
trails. Our service department is one of the most experienced
in the Keweenaw and boasts a combined 125 years of mechanical experience,
working on all makes and models.

Rental
days run from 9 am to 8 pm on the last day of your rental. If renting
more than one day, you keep your sled with you overnight!
All rentals include helmet. Limited jacket
and bibs available at no charge. New this year, we are offering helmets
with electric shields at an additional cost (must reserve in advance).
Operators are required to read
and sign a "Hold Harmless" rental
agreement form. Operators must possess a valid credit card for a damage
deposit. Damage waivers are available for $25/day with a $1000
deductible. Operators are responsible for following all trail
rules and regulations and agree to practice safe snowmobiling. Rental
operators must be 18 years of age or older. Reservations are taken with
a major credit card: Mastercard, Visa, Discover. A $100
per sled deposit is required at the time of reservation.
Deposit will be deducted from rental total at time of picking up sled.
There is a 15 cancellation
policy. If you cancel within the 15 days, your deposit
will not be returned.
We
offer shuttle service to and from Houghton/Hancock motels. Plenty of parking
for your vehicles to be left onsight overnight.
It
is recommended that you make reservations for Christmas and New Year's
holidays and for Michigan Technological University's Winter Carnival at
least two months in advance.
